"Rate-A-Record," where selected studio audience
members are asked to rate a record from
thirty-five to ninety-eight.
The show was originally aired on WFIL-TV in
Philadelphia with host Bob Horn. Dick Clark took
over as host in July 1956. The series had a short run
in prime time in the fall of 1957 on ABC. The daytime
network version continued on ABC until 1963, and then
became a once-a-week Saturday afternoon show from
1963-1987. Dick Clark continued production of original
episodes for syndication for another year. And in the
spring of 1989 it surfaced again on the USA Network.
