Teddie was living the life of a single New Yorker.
Breakfast was a cup of Starbucks, take-out Chinese
was her idea of dinner at home, a yellow cab was her
car and her group of friends was her family.
Then she met Max, a successful political writer, and
love at first sight led to engagement and living together.
Now Teddie's new home is a sprawling house in the suburbs,
and her new family includes stepchildren-to-be Eliza,
an emotional six-year-old; Carter, an unpredictable
15-year-old; and their caregiver, Gladys, who is rather
dubious about Teddie's qualifications for momdom.
Back in the city, Teddie's loyal group of single
girlfriends are equally dubious, especially Hillary,
a serial divorcee who views Teddie's new lifestyle
choice as an act of sheer madness.
Teddie learns that being an instant mom is not as easy
as she thought. Determined to maintain her identity in
the city, she will continue in her successful career as
head of a non-profit company that pairs celebrities with
worthy political causes. As Teddie's modern juggling act
begins, she'll need her distinct brand of sarcastic humor
and a lot more patience than she ever thought
she'd have in order to help her balance it all.
