This whimsical puppet show was one of television's
longest-running and most loved children's programs.
It was always done live, and the dialogue was unscripted,
with Fran and her little friends reacting to each other
in an entirely spontaneous manner.
In addition to its prime-time telecasts, Kukla, Fran & Ollie
appeared Sunday afternoons on NBC from August 1952 to
June 1954; in a five-minute weekday spot on NBC from
September 1961 to June 1962; on PBS from 1969 to 1971;
and in a syndicated version during the 1975-1976 season.
